PlayStation Is Getting An Acclaimed Xbox Exclusive This Year

It looks like one of 2021's best Xbox exclusives is making its way to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 this year.
The excellent Cyberpunk-themed action-RPG The Ascent released as a console exclusive for Xbox consoles last July. An impressive debut from Swedish developer Neon Giant, it's a sweeping sci-fi adventure set in a stunningly detailed dystopia that blends exploration with punishing tactical battles.

"The Ascent is a solo and co-op Action-shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk world," reads the game's official description. "The mega corporation that owns you and everyone, The Ascent Group, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it?"
Fortunately for PlayStation gamers who felt they were missing out, it looks like an announcement for The Ascent on Sony hardware is imminent. The game has been rated for PS5 and PS4 by the ESRB, which is usually a strong indication that official news is on the way.
Notable industry insider Tom Henderson recently suggested that Sony may be planning a PlayStation event in February packed with announcements and reveals for the coming year. I'd imagine that if/when The Ascent is announced for PlayStation, it'll be during just such an event. Watch this space.
