Forget Fallout 5, Fallout: Vault 13 is on the way

Forget Fallout 5, Fallout: Vault 13 is on the way

Fallout: Vault 13 is the remake we've been dying for

There’s a lot of hype surrounding Bethesda’s Fallout series right now and for good reason, it’s an amazing RPG series that stands the test of time, bugs, glitches and all.

Yet, following the recent success of the Fallout series from Amazon Studios, hype for the Bethesda series has reached heights we’ve not seen in years with the likes of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 benefiting from a surge of concurrent players in recent weeks.

Throughout its existence, the Fallout series has been enjoyed by PC and console generations including PlayStation and Xbox. Yet, if you play the Fallout series on PC, you can take full advantage of the fantastic modding community and now, so can Fallout 4 players following the free new-gen update.

One mod that is garnering a lot of hype is the upcoming ‘Fallout: Vault 13’ which may help reduce the torment of worrying about when Fallout 5 will arrive (maybe). That being said, we’re going to have to be a little more patient for the arrival of ‘Fallout: Vault 13’ because like the highly anticipated ‘Fallout: London’, this mod has been delayed following the launch of the free new-gen update for Fallout 4 but there is some good news.

Powered by Fallout 4’s Creation Engine, ‘Fallout: Vault 13’ looks to remake the original game in the series from 1997 and best of all, it will be free to download via moddb.com.

In a recent development update following its delay, it has been announced on the ‘Fallout: Vault 13’ Twitter account that a playable demo is on the way at the time of writing, that demo is about 90% complete and it’s expected to arrive this summer.

“We believe that this summer could be one of the most thrilling seasons for the Fallout modding community in a long time,” tweeted ‘Fallout: Vault 13’. “Stay tuned, and let’s make this a year to remember for Fallout modding!”

Unfortunately, much like ‘Fallout: London’, ‘Fallout: Vault 13’ will be a PC-only gig. That being said, at least we can still enjoy the new and improved version of Fallout 4 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
