Zoe Saldana has become the first actor to be the lead in four movies that have earned over $2 billion.

Saldana played Neytiri in James Cameron's 2009 movie Avatar, as well as its recent sequel, Avatar: The Way of the Water. However, as reported by GameSpot (via People), it's the most recent movie that has officially made the actor one of the most successful on the planet.

Zoe Saldana started her career by landing a role in a 1999 episode of the US drama series, Law & Order, before being cast in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.

However, Saldana’s career changed course in a big way when she played Uhura in the 2009 Star Trek movie. This role was then followed up by goliath which was James Cameron’s Avatar. From that moment forth, Saldana would not only play the role of Gamora in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in the MCU but also in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

That being said, it’s the roles Saldana played in the two Avatar movies as well as Infinity War and Endgame that have made her the first actor to star in four movies that made more than $2 billion.

At the time of writing, the first Avatar movie has grossed $2.9 billion at the box office, landing 1st place in the highest-ever grossing movies. Avengers: Endgame is in second place with $2.8 billion, Avengers: Infinity War is in fifth place with $2.04 billion and finally, Avatar: The Way of the Water is currently in sixth place with $2.02 billion.

In related news, Avatar: The Way of the Water has just been nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards. Proving that the movie just isn't a commercial success, but a critical one too. However, despite the success of both Avatar movies, the franchise having further sequels is in doubt, according to James Cameron.
