Fans of Zelda should keep an eye on this upcoming deck-building roguelike which aims to capture the whimsy of the classic Nintendo franchise.

Developed by 159 Studio, Lucky Hunter is a “deck-building auto battler roguelike game” where your pieces are automatically played on the board, giving players the chance to build unique decks and relics to ultimately defeat increasingly powerful prey.

Check out the trailer for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom below!

Set to release in Q4 of 2024, the official synopsis reads: “After the catastrophe, the world became devastated, monsters roamed freely, crops could no longer grow.

People had to rely on hunters to obtain the necessary water and food. It is said that all the disasters originated from a demon king. The legendary lucky hunter set out to hunt the demon king but never returned…”

Now under the village chief’s guidance, you will become the new young hunter and carry chess pieces imbued with magical powers.

Set off on a journey to retrace the legendary hunter’s steps all whilst growing strong with each battle.

Build unique decks, embark on strange hunting journeys and conquer powerful prey within forests, swamps and volcanic regions. It is up to you to save the world from the brink of disaster.

With visuals similar to that of The Legend of Zelda, Lucky Hunter will see you travel through procedurally generated maps all whilst automatically playing your pieces on the battlefield.

The standard hunting journey includes four chapters, each ending with a challenging boss battle whereas the endless adventure mode challenges you with increasingly powerful prey with an ever-changing deck.

Lucky Hunter is available to try out for free courtesy of its Steam demo. This gives you the perfect opportunity to try it out before the full game releases later this year.
