Is the Bloody Baron quest of The Witcher 3 one of the greatest of all time?

The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt from CD Projekt Red is a beloved fantasy RPG, and despite being released in 2015, fans still cannot get enough.

Inspired by the Andrzej Sapkowski novels, there are many reasons why fans love The Witcher video game series, from its protagonist Geralt of Rivia to supporting characters such as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Triss Merigold and Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon aka Ciri, as well as its compelling story missions and immersive world.

What’s more, many believe that the side-quests of The Witcher 3 crafted by CDPR are equally as compelling as the main story missions, if not at times, more so. One such side-quest is 'Bloody Baron'.

“Nilfgaard's agent had determined Ciri had stayed with the baron - the self-proclaimed ruler of Velen,” reads the description from a Wiki entry. “This man was known for his violent temper and a three-mile-long cruel streak, hence his moniker: the Bloody Baron. Geralt, however, was not one to be frightened by nicknames, least of all those taken from bodily fluids, and so made his way to Crow's Perch, the baron's seat, to ask about Cirilla.”

Fans of Reddit have been discussing the Bloody Baron quest of The Witcher 3, but please be advised, there will be spoilers in the thread. “Playing through this quest for the 5th time now, and damn it still hits hard,” opened up LordBruno47, kicking off the discussion on the thread.

“This is such an excellent questline and I'm amazed the game's still so much fun to play even after many completions,” added LordBruno47. “I’ll never forget finding him ******* from the **** in the town square. That was very upsetting but also showed me how great this game's stories can be,” replied DadlyDad.

“The Witcher 3 is still the greatest RPG I have ever played. That is all I gotta say,” said wanderer1999 talking about the game as a whole. “Such a greatly written story plus the immersion is so good. The music, the weather, the atmosphere it all seems so real and grim, explained VigilantCMDR. “I hope The Witcher 4 brings even more”

In related news, The Witcher 3 player admits that they never pick Triss, because they’re too ‘afraid’ of Yennefer, and it seems that Henry Cavill may feel the same.

The Witcher season three is available to stream on Netflix now.
