Warzone 2 players say the Gulag has been ruined, is 'not fun' anymore

Warzone 2.0 players have been complaining about the new 2v2 Gulag - some believe that Warzone's 1v1 version was more "fair".

Call of Duty players continue to be divided over Warzone 2.0. Since its release last month, it’s not taken long at all for fans of the series to start complaining about the changes that new battle royale instalment has brought, and you can’t really blame them.

At the time of writing, the game has a “mostly negative” user rating on Steam - some players have already said that they’re uninstalling it until improvements are made. As reported by Dexerto, some CoD fans are now expressing their frustrations over the sequel’s version of the Gulag.

While you’re here, check out some spicy gameplay footage from Modern Warfare II below.

The Gulag was a great feature in the original Warzone, as it allowed unlucky players to have a second chance at life if they managed to win a 1v1 against a fellow fallen enemy. However, the sequel adds a bit of spice to that - it’s now a 2v2, so random pairs can band together to crawl back into Al Mazrah. Alternatively, all four players can call a truce and go after the AI-controlled Jailer instead, allowing everyone to return to the game.

This new version of the Gulag relies heavily on proximity chat, a feature which continues to provide some incredible moments - as well as helping one player get a hilarious win as an in-game Uber driver, it's also been used for evil, with some using it to turn others’ consoles off. Unfortunately, it's clearly not been consistently helping players win the controversial 2v2 matches.

On Reddit, user DidntMeanToLoadThat shared a clip of them being abandoned by a teammate and forced to fight against two enemies who weren’t prepared to show mercy, despite the player’s pleas to go for the Jailer instead. “Who ever suggested 2v2 Gulag needs a slap,” they wrote.

“1v1 was better, it was fair, required skill and didn't have these stupid problems like 2v2,” Fantastic_Frost replied. “Yeah Gulag is s**t and the sad thing is it’s not the worst issue for this game. Oh well,” added Imnotapoolman.

This doesn't seem like a feature that Infinity Ward would be likely to change in future updates, but we'll just have to see what happens.
