Euphoria actor Angus Cloud has sadly passed away at the age of 25.

The news was confirmed by Cloud’s publicist, Cait Bailey, who said that Cloud died at his family home in Oakland, California. A cause of death was not given. Cloud had recently lost his father, with his family confirming in a statement that he’d “intensely struggled with the loss”.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” the statement from Cloud’s family read (via The Guardian). “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways […] The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

A source close to Cloud told Entertainment Tonight (via BBC), that the actor had been “battling severe suicidal thoughts” since his father’s burial.

Cloud was perhaps best known for portraying Fezco ‘Fez’ O'Neill in Sam Levinson’s popular HBO hit Euphoria. Fez quickly became a fan-favourite - and it was actually Cloud’s first ever acting role. Cloud was walking down the street in New York when casting scout Eléonore Hendricks spotted him and recommended he meet with casting director Jennifer Venditti and series creator Levinson.

HBO responded to the news, writing, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cloud had recently completed filming on an as-yet-untitled monster thriller for Universal. The film is set to release in April 2024.

GAMINGbible extends its condolences to Cloud’s family, friends, and colleagues.
