The Elder Scrolls 6 teaser leaves fans quietly optimistic: ‘we’re getting closer’

I’ll believe it when I see it!

Fans of The Elder Scrolls series are quietly optimistic that we’re getting closer to the release of the highly anticipated sixth-numbered entry in Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series.

I mean, logically, of course, we’re getting closer to the release of The Elder Scrolls VI. As time goes by, we’re not getting further away from the long-awaited Bethesda title, or at least I hope so.

It’s quite baffling when you think that The Elder Scrolls VI was announced during E3 2018, an event that no longer exists. Yet, despite that announcement taking place seven years ago, The Elder Scrolls VI still doesn't have a public release date or a gameplay trailer.

Unless something drastic happens later this year or early 2026, I’ll be assuming that the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series is a next-gen title. At least that way, anything before will feel like a bonus.

During an interview with the YouTuber MrMattyPlays, he had the opportunity to speak with Bethesda's head honcho, Todd Howard and they spoke about the future of the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series.

While a release date wasn't confirmed for The Elder Scrolls VI during the interview, now that Starfield was released in September 2023, the team at Bethesda is hard at work on our next adventures in Tamriel and this was pleasing news to fans on Reddit.

“We are getting closer! It’s at least three years but it's better than nothing,” exclaimed National_Ad_5824.

“This is kinda the final stretch of waiting. Yeah, it's three to four years away, but it’s the prime focus for Bethesda right now,” said a Reddit user in response.

“Good news all around, I see. I wasn't expecting a big reveal, and I patiently await more news on The Elder Scrolls VI in the future,” replied YouCantTakeThisName.

“Hopefully, the 10-year wait for The Elder Scrolls VII won't be so bad if they do annual expansions for The Elder Scrolls VI,” joked Theodoryan. However, to be fair, there’s probably some degree of truth behind that joke.

We’ll have our fingers crossed that Bethesda will drop some official news on The Elder Scrolls VI during the Xbox Games Showcase this June.
