The Elder Scrolls 6 fans convinced they've just found game's release date

Honestly, I think they're onto something here

Through the power of maths (and one Instagram post from Bethesda), fans think they’ve discovered exactly when The Elder Scrolls VI will launch - and they might actually be onto something.

Alright, we have to recap a story from yesterday before you’ll be able to make sense of this one.

Bethesda recently announced a charity auction in collaboration with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in which the top bidder will win the privilege of naming one NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI.

This isn’t the first time Bethesda has actually held an auction like this, because they also collaborated with Make-A-Wish back in 2021 - except this time, the prize was that you were allowed to name one NPC in Starfield.

Now you might see where we’re going with this, as this gave fans an idea; how many years were there between Starfield’s release and the Make-A-Wish auction?

Roughly 900 days, as it goes… which might make you think that the same logic can be applied to The Elder Scrolls VI. However, as a few commenters over on the r/TESVI figured out, the time between might actually be a little shorter.

“The Starfield Make-A-Wish was announced while the game’s expected date was November 11, 2022,” commented one user.

“Slim chance they might actually be aiming for a November 2026 release, which would also line up with the leaked documents from pre-Covid. Everything up through the recent Indiana Jones and upcoming Doom games were released with a 2-year delay.”

Either way, I think this is genuinely a pretty good indication of The Elder Scrolls VI’s release date.

Bethesda clearly has a schedule in mind if they’re launching this charity campaign now, so I don’t think comparing the development cycles of Starfield and TES VI is particularly farfetched.

Here’s hoping this means a trailer is inbound too, because it’s almost been seven years since we got that first teaser back in June 2018.
