A new report suggests that The Elder Scrolls VI is going to take place in the region of Hammerfell, and that it'll feature a detailed new political system in an effort to help the world feel more alive and detailed.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's open-world was made up of a number of separate factions and groups, with two larger warring sides in the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. Joining one side would change how the other reacted to you, to an extent, though much of the world would remain largely the same regardless of your choices.

This is something Fallout 4 attempted to build on further, and something it sounds like The Elder Scrolls VI wants to expand on even more.

Take a look at the future of The Elder Scrolls Online below!

It's previously been suggested that the upcoming Elder Scrolls game will take place in Hammerfell, although Bethesda has yet to share any real details on the RPG's setting.

According to new rumours shared by an alleged insider called SKULLZI on Twitter, The Elder Scrolls VI wants to evolve the political systems established back in Skyrim. They suggest that betrayals are remembered, marriages mean something, and the factions you join will result in consequences elsewhere. In other words, your choices actually matter in a big way.

The leaker also suggests that the game is currently in full development, and that it's aiming to release around 2025/2026. Take all this with a massive pinch of salt for now, of course. SKULLZI claims these are from a "credible anonymous source", but for all we know that just means he's got an uncle that works at Bethesda.

Last we heard, The Elder Scrolls VI was still in pre-production, which means it's going to be a long, long time until it launches. In other words, we'd be pretty surprised if it arrived by 2026.
