It is no secret that The Elder Scrolls VI is becoming something of a pipedream after fans recently “celebrated” the six-year anniversary since it was first announced.

With just a brief teaser trailer shown at 2018’s E3, we have received no further updates despite Bethesda having wrapped up development on its previous project, Starfield.

As far as we know, developers are hard at work on both The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5, but you would not think that based on the lack of official information.

However, fans were truly left feeling frustrated last year when Bethesda released a statement to celebrate 30 years of The Elder Scrolls franchise.

With many believing that it would take this opportunity to announce a development update on TES VI, it soon transpired that that was not the case.

The long statement merely referenced the game at the end by saying, “Last but not least, yes, we are in development on the next chapter - The Elder Scrolls VI."

The end.

Not only was that old news but it has also been a year since that statement and we are still yet to hear anything more.

“Stuff like Elder Scrolls VI just bums me out about modern release schedules,” Reddit user Roseking admitted.

“This post is celebrating 30 years of Elder Scrolls, and the last mainline game is coming up on 13 years old.

13 years is the time between Arena and Oblivion. That is just insane for me to think about. It just makes it so hard for me to care about franchises like I used to.”

Another user agreed, saying, “Man, Elder Scrolls 6 was announced almost 6 years ago at this point.

And after Starfield, which I still liked despite its many flaws, I remain skeptical that they even remember what made their games so great.”

Hopefully all of this frustration will be worth it when The Elder Scrolls VI is finally released but for now, we keep waiting.
