The Elder Scrolls VI fans are hungry, and I don’t mean for a conventional snack.

Instead, they yearn for gameplay, a second trailer, the reveal of a title … just a single crumb of an update from Bethesda.

It was all the way back at 2018’s E3 that the game was originally revealed, and precisely nothing has changed since then.

Bethesda did recently launch an auction with Make-A-Wish allowing people to bid on the opportunity to customise one of the game’s NPCs, but that’s all we’ve heard of the project.

A similar auction was held around two years ahead of Starfield’s original planned release leading many to wonder whether The Elder Scrolls VI might land in 2027.

As fans are so eager for news, some are seemingly trying to take advantage of that by feeding the fanbase fake leaks.

Do you recall that original trailer? It landed so long ago.

That’s seemingly what’s happened with this latest ‘leaked gameplay’ from 4chan, shared to Reddit by user theultimatefinalman.

The general consensus is that The Elder Scrolls VI will be set in Hammerfell so it’s clear that someone has used that tidbit to knock together some gameplay.

While aspects of this clip do look nice, it screams fake - especially with that sketchy note about it being “the third time this month somebody has eaten my lunch” in the bottom left corner.

“Literally looks like modded Skyrim,” wrote Dogbold. “Same black background with fog and still-model loading screen. Same crosshair.”

“This is most def fake, but it is a cool concept,” added Unfair-Mode-7371.

GrimdogX agreed, writing, “That's modded Skyrim; the loading screen transition gives it away. Might be piecemeal and clipped into some sort of lazy render made elsewhere but nah, I can see the parts.”

A re-reveal will come soon enough, my friends. In the meantime, stay dubious when it comes to surfacing ‘leaks’.
