Steam has banned a controversial VR Orgy game over its ‘drastic content’. Say what now?

The game in question is from Madmind Studio and is not-so-subtly called Succubus: Hellish Orgy VR and as you might expect, this game pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin.

It’s also worth mentioning that this Orgy VR game is a spin-off to the 2018 video game, Agony. In case you didn't know, Agony is set in Hell, and is a very gory and sexualised game. So it might come as little surprise that the developers have now created a gruesome orgy spin-off.

Agony is still available to purchase on PC Steam as well as consoles. However, as reported by PC Gamer, its VR Orgy spin-off has been banned from the Steam platform. Following its ban, Madmind Studio released a statement.

“Some features available in the VR version are too disturbing and immersive to be released on Steam,” said the developer. While it wasn't detailed exactly why Succubus: Hellish Orgy VR has been banned from the platform, it doesn't take much to put two and two together.

“Valve banned it for its drastic content” and “Steam has decided to ban the game without giving us the ability to make changes/patches/censorship,” the statement continued.

If the developers weren't given the opportunity to patch the game for a second release on PC Steam, we get the frustration of Madmind, no matter what we may or may not think of the game's content. Hopefully both Steam and Madmind Studio can find some kind of resolve for this matter.

On Steam, Agony received mixed reviews, whereas, on Metacritic, it averaged low scores varying between 34 to 47 depending on the platform. It is very much a game that relies on its shock factor and is not one for the faint of heart. So please proceed with caution if you’re curious to see what all the controversy is about.
