This excellent Star Wars game is free to download and keep now

Star Wars: Squadrons is currently free to download via the Epic Games Store, but only for this week.

November is a potentially dangerous time for gamers’ wallets everywhere. Although there’s always some great deals to be found, it can be very easy to fall into the trap of spending far more money on stuff than you would have done in the first place just because of things being available at good prices. And won’t someone please think of the backlogs?

Thankfully, it’s a different story when a game is straight up free. As reported by UploadVR, right now, the brilliant 2020 Star Wars title, Star Wars: Squadrons, is available to download and keep on PC for the low, low price of nothing. You definitely won’t want to miss out.

Take a look at the trailer for Star Wars: Squadrons below.

Basically, if you’ve ever found yourself fantasising about what it'd be like to pilot an X-wing, this is the game for you: “Master the art of starfighter combat in the authentic piloting experience Star Wars: Squadrons,” the official synopsis reads. “Buckle up, feel the adrenaline of first-person multiplayer space dogfights alongside your squadron, and learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling Star Wars single-player story.”

If you want to claim this freebie, you have a week from today to do so - all you’ll need is an Epic Games Store account. It’s usually £34.99 at full price, so it’s a very significant saving, and you’ve got nothing to lose - you can find it here. In our review, we said that Squadrons was "a must-buy for VR headset owners", so if you were looking for a new VR title, this one is certainly worth a shot.

If Star Wars isn’t your thing, GOG is currently offering the side-scrolling action-adventure gem Narita Boy totally free on PC, too. The deal ends tomorrow at 2PM (UK time), so if you want to add that one to your library, you’ll have to get on it fast.
