Star Wars Outlaws launches major free update you can grab now

Several bug fixes and performance-related upgrades are the focus of the 1.1.2 patch

Star Wars Outlaws is back, and it’s bringing a 2GB patch with it.

After releasing to generally average reviews last month and earning itself a 68/100 average on OpenCritic in the process, Ubisoft are looking to address some of the issues the community had with Star Wars Outlaws at launch.

One of the main problems reviewers had with the title was its numerous bugs and technical issues, which led Tristan Ogilvie to refer to the title as "a bucket of bolts held together with repurposed parts and prone to breaking down” in his 7/10 review for IGN.

Ubisoft stated in the patch notes for the 1.1.2 update that they’re specifically taking aim at “crash fixes and stability improvements across all platforms” as well as “Overall PC performance improvement and optimization”.

There’s also several bug fixes for some notable quests too, such as the quest “Hyperspace” which initially didn’t allow players to take off once the quest began.

The patch notes also stated that several NPCs will also be receiving idle animations, which seems like an odd thing to be adding this late in the game but hey, at least they’re adding it.

Stealth has also got bit a of a glow-up in this patch too, as both the “level of detection” and how likely you are to be spotted whilst rolling have been massively tweaked (no doubt as a result of how many complaints certain stealth related missions garnered online).

There are a whole bunch of graphical improvements in this patch too, including ultra-wide monitor support for cutscenes, ”higher graphic fidelity” when using ray tracing, and a few tweaks to the motion blur settings on consoles.

It seems the bug fixes are the main star of the show here however, so those who were left dissatisfied after too many bugged quests may want to consider jumping back in now that the patch just dropped on all systems.
