Grant is perhaps best known for portraying an Ewok in the 1983 Star Wars film Return of the Jedi, starring alongside Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. He also brought a goblin to life in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Other credits include 1986’s Labyrinth, 1985’s Legend, and 1988’s Willow.

As reported by LADbible, Grant suddenly fell to the ground outside of a train station in London on 16 March. The London Ambulance Service were swiftly called to the scene, arriving just after 2pm outside of St Pancras Station on Euston Road.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said, “We sent an ambulance crew and a medic in a response car. We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital as a priority.” Grant was later declared brain dead in hospital and was placed on life support. On Sunday 19 March, the actor’s family confirmed that his life support machine was switched off and that he’d passed away.

Grant’s daughter, 28-year-old Sophie Jayne Grant, said, “I’m devastated. My dad was a legend in so many ways. He always brought a smile and laughter to everyone’s face. He would do anything for anyone and was a massive Arsenal fan. He loved his daughters and son and his girlfriend Maria very much. My dad, I love you so much. Sleep tight.”

The actor’s girlfriend, Maria Dwyer, described Grant as the “love of [her] life”. She added, “[Paul was] the funniest man I know. He made my life complete. Life is never going to be the same without him.”

GAMINGbible extends their condolences to the actor’s friends and family.
