Skyrim has a super well-hidden treasure that I spent my whole life missing

You probably missed it too

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been hiding a secret in the College Of Winterhold, and you’ve probably walked past it loads of times.

While I’m not the biggest fan of Skyrim I can at least appreciate it for what it is, an excellent RPG that’s set high expectations for not only The Elder Scrolls VI but also every RPG that came after it.

It’s not a game I tend to want to replay and when I do I don’t tend to play it for long, but credit where credit is due every time I boot it up again it always feels like there’s something new to see.

The College Of Winterhold for example is a popular spot in the game, with nearly every player probably heading it at some point or other in their playthrough, especially if they want some of the best magic spells in the game for their build.

It hides many secrets but one of them has been right over your head the entire time, specifically on the wooden beams connected to the ceiling.

A Reddit thread sharing some of these Skyrim secrets featured a comment that read “under the College of Winterhold, there is a room with ceiling beams. You may have passed through it on your way to the Atronach Forge hundreds of times. Unbeknownst to most on top of one of these ceiling beams and completely out of sight, stands a wooden bucket filled with ingots."

Ingots are a great resource in the game for both selling and crafting, so regardless of your current objective you’d want to pick them up whenever possible.

The post went on to explain you can’t reach them by normal means, and you have to use a shout to knock them down for collection.

It serves no purpose whatsoever in the main story or any of the side quests, yet Bethesda took the time to throw in these hidden rewards for the most eagle-eyed players to find, it’s impressive stuff.
