Throughout your time across the lands of Skyrim, you will stumble across all manner of deadly creatures and many of them make the main bosses look like golden retrievers.

So much so that some fans agree that this super secret boss is “the hardest in the game” despite many of us having missed them during our first playthroughs.

Take a trip down memory lane with the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

You only need to sink a few hours into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to know that Bethesda jam-packed its open-world RPG with all manner of deadly enemies.

From vampires to bears, bandits to dragons themselves, you can hardly take two steps forward without that iconic battle music kicking in and some sort of creature landing on your head.

However, with Skyrim encouraging exploration, it is easy to miss some certain features, secrets, or Easter eggs and apparently, it is even easy to miss secret bosses.

This discussion kicked off over on r/gaming after one user shared a helpful guide dedicated to all of Skyrim’s “hidden minibosses that you might not know about”.

The guide features five mini bosses as well as instructions on where to find them but one boss stuck out in particular for the fans over on Reddit, mainly due to their difficulty level.

“I'd hardly call Karstaag a mini-boss, he's probably the hardest enemy to fight in the entire game,” one user revealed.

Karstaag can be summoned by placing his skull on his throne in Castle Karstaag and as a fellow Dragonborn and frost giant, he can use all of the same spells as the player.

Not only that but he has a frost cloak ability that covers a large area of the arena, inflicting frostbite and causing a whole lot of damage.

“First time I fought him he literally launched me out of that mountain and into the ocean nearby. I still have no idea how the hell I survived,” user russmcruss52 shared.

Another user added, “Depending on difficulty setting, Karstaag is actually the most powerful boss NPC in the game.”

So if you have yet to beat Karstaag in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and fancy a bit of a challenge, you know where to find him.
