Skyrim fans in love with 'incredible' new remake trailer

This wait is going to hurt

Following the success of the recent The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, it seems as though some of the fellow Elder Scrolls’ entries are also getting some love.

Despite Bethesda seemingly taking their time with development of The Elder Scrolls VI, the wait has become a lot easier over recent months thanks to the studio releasing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

Allowing fans to dive back into the 2006 hit RPG for the first time, it also got them thinking about some of the other Elder Scrolls entries.

More specifically, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

First released way back in 2002, the third instalment in The Elder Scrolls franchise has yet to receive an Oblivion-esque remaster but thanks to some dedicated fans, a non-official version is still in the works.

Skywind is a fan-made project which aims to remake The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind using Skyrim’s engine.

The project may be a few years away from release, with many believing that it could be some time in 2027, but to make the wait a bit easier, the Skywind development team has recently released a 20-minute gameplay trailer showing how development is coming along.

The video gives us our first look at the Imperial Legion quest, complete with the rescue of Joncis Dalomax and of course, allows us to see the beautiful world that many of us grew up with.

The developers are also working on a new interpretation of Morrowind’s beautiful soundtrack, even going as far as to add brand-new tracks.

Last but not least, Skywind will also include fully-voiced dialogue which is something that was missing from the original Bethesda release.

As you can guess, this recent trailer has made fans very excited about the upcoming project.

“Looks incredible, but will probably not be out for another 2-3 years,” user TormentedKnight said over on r/TESVI.

Another user added, “Wasn't even aware this was a thing.

Hope they can keep it together and eventually reach the finish line!”

All that is left to see is if Skywind or The Elder Scrolls VI will be released first and I don’t know about you, but I think it may be the former.
