Travelling around Skyrim’s impressive map is one of my most treasured moments in gaming.
Entering into a new town, being welcomed by the beautiful music and the brand-new architecture that awaited you is just another reason why The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most beloved RPGs of all time.
What also makes it one of the best is that, to this day, players are still stumbling across secrets and Easter eggs found throughout Bethesda’s open-world.
That is the case yet again as Reddit user Delicious-Tie8097 has found a hidden tunnel which fellow fans admit they had “no idea” about.

Posted to r/skyrim, the user reveals that there is another way to get into Solitude other than heading to its main gates.
“Played for years, just discovered the Solitude staircase,” they shared.
“I had long thought that you had to enter and exit Solitude by the main gate, which means walking a long way around when coming from the east (assuming no fast travel).
But there's an entrance through a mine-style door, just NE of the East Empire Company port, on the west side of the road.

It leads to a spiral staircase and stone tunnel that puts you right in the middle of Solitude.
The things you learn.”
Solitude, which is a major city on the northwest coast of Skyrim, is the largest city in the game and one which you will spend quite a lot of time in.
However, it seems as though the majority of us entered the city by its main gates as many fellow players reveal they did not know about this secret entrance.

“I did not know this,” user ThetaGreekGeek shared, alongside a mind-blown emoji.
Another agreed, adding, “Wait....WHAT!? Hold on imma hop on Skyrim real quick and brb.”
This staircase does come in handy during one quest within Solitude but it is definitely overlooked when it comes to entering the city in the first place.
Well, the more you know.
