The Last of Us Part I is proving it’s never too early for a remake. Despite the fact that Naughty Dog’s original game is only nine years old, it’s getting a new-gen overhaul which begs the question, which other titles are due to undergo the remake treatment? Well, John Marston actor Rob Wiethoff wants Red Dead Redemption to be next in line.

Take a look at The Last of Us Part I’s graphics compared to the 2013 original below.

During a recent interview with Dan Allen Gaming, Wiethoff revealed that he’d jump at the chance to work with Rockstar again if the opportunity for a remake arose. He explained how he’d “love for it to happen,” but confirmed that he didn’t actually have any intel on Rockstar’s plans.

Wiethoff explained, “I would love an opportunity to work with [Rockstar] again, whether it be remastering something or something totally different. I can't really say enough good things about Rockstar. If they do that, great, that would be awesome." Unfortunately for us fans, it was recently revealed that Rockstar has shelved plans for a Red Dead Redemption remake.

The reasoning behind this is that they’ve chosen to focus all of their efforts on Grand Theft Auto VI. Admittedly, GTA fans are desperate to get their hands on the long-awaited next instalment, but there’s also a good case to be made for putting time into a Red Dead Redemption remake. The sequel is one of the greatest games of all time, yet the original remains inaccessible for many gamers. For example, PlayStation owners need a PS Plus Premium membership and even then, Red Dead Redemption will leave the platform in October. Come on Rockstar. Give the fans what they want.
