Red Dead Redemption fans 'taunted' by new teaser

You're not slick, Rockstar

It is no secret that Rockstar is remaining tight-lipped when it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI.

With its first and only trailer released well over a year ago, the studio has let nothing else slip when it comes to perhaps the most anticipated game of all time.

Check out the first and only trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI below!

So much so, that its parent company Take-Two Interactive has had to be the ones to keep us updated by letting us know that Grand Theft Auto VI was still scheduled for a Fall 2025 release.

Despite Rockstar being unwilling to reveal any official information, it seems as though it has still found the same to do a bit of taunting.

In the newest update for Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component, key art can be seen which features two characters bursting into a shopfront with guns raised.

We can assume that they are robbing the place and it wasn’t long before GTA VI fans pointed out the similarities between this key art and the moment in the trailer which saw brand-new protagonists, Jason and Lucia, holding up a store.

“Rockstar’s recent post… they know exactly what they’re doing”, read one post over on r/GTA6 alongside an image comparison.

“This is pretty close actually, probably planned by the marketing team just as a little Easter egg towards GTA 6 but obviously it doesn’t mean anything.

Cool coincidence if nothing else,” DeterminedHyena wrote.

Nativeamericlown agreed, saying, “That’s definitely intentional, but I’ve learned that it’s just an Easter egg. Not a tease towards the trailer two.”

Not only is it a very similar image but the Red Dead Online couple are also giving off the Bonnie and Clyde vibes which is, of course, the theme of Jason and Lucia’s story in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Additionally, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and to some fans, Bonnie and Clyde were the ultimate “one true pairing”.

We may never know if Rockstar made this comparison intentionally but it is one hell of a coincidence if not.
