Red Dead Redemption 3 release window roasted by fans

Red Dead Redemption 3 might still be a while away, and it’s clear fans are tired of waiting.

GTA and Red Dead fans love the titles Rockstar Games puts out, but let’s face it—you’re usually waiting a while for a new one.

We’re happy to wait until 2026 to get GTA 6, but if you’re a Red Dead fan or want something new from Rockstar, you might be waiting a while for the next installment.

It seems Rockstar fans are already impatient for Red Dead Redemption 3, even though realistically we might not see it for another five years or more.

A thread on the Red Dead Redemption Reddit page asked fans who they’d like to see as a protagonist for the third Redemption game.

But it’s turned into a roast on Rockstar’s behalf for the amount of time it takes to release a sequel.

“I suppose we'll find out in about a decade,” the top comment reads.

“You're a bit too hopeful,” the reply underneath it says.

A third comment wrote: “Playstation 8 perhaps?”

We’re not expecting to hear about Red Dead Redemption 3 any time soon, especially since GTA 6 is still a year away, but the demand is clearly there.

I hope the next Red Dead isn’t a Redemption title, but something new entirely.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is technically the third Red Dead game, so the next game could feature a story unrelated to the Marston saga, and therefore would justify a new subtitle. That’s what some of the other commenters in the thread think too.

“We need a fully new protagonist with his own story that isn't affiliated with the Van Der Linde gang,” wrote one comment. “The best setting would be before the events of RDR2 and RDR1, the peak of the Wild West.”

Still, we’ll wait until after GTA 6 releases next May before we hold our breath for a new Red Dead.
