Red Dead Redemption 2 gets limited-time Christmas DLC you can claim now

To celebrate the festive season, Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component is hosting its Merry Call to Arms event with a bunch of freebies up for grabs right now.

“Snow blankets the rugged landscapes and winding trails — starting with a gentle dusting before building into sweeping, swirling snowfall,” the official Rockstar blog post reads.

“Expect holiday cheer in abundance across the frontier with festive lights, tree decorations, and more.”

Now that Red Dead Online’s Thanksgiving event has ended, it is time to celebrate Christmas and on top of 2x RDO$, XP and gold, players of the Red Dead Redemption 2 online multiplayer mode can also earn some free cosmetics and items throughout December.

By booting up Red Dead Online between now and 6 January, you can earn both weekly and monthly rewards.

As well as being rewarded a free accessory and 3 Prime Beef Joints just for logging in during these dates and a further reward of the Winter Evans Repeater Variant for logging in between 10 December and 6 January, you can also earn weekly rewards.

Whereas logging in between 3-9 will reward you with red Furred Gloves, 10-16 with the offer for 50% off a Stable Slot, and 17-23 for the red Fanned Stovepipe Hat, logging in over the Christmas weekend can also allow you to earn a prize.

From 24-30 December, completing three Role Challenges will see you earn the Citadel Rock Treasure Map which, as you can probably gather, will mark some valuables for you to go and find.

The weekly and monthly rewards end on January 6 so if you are eager to get any of these items and cosmetics, you must log into Red Dead Online and complete the challenges listed on the official blog post.

These items are limited so you may not have another chance to earn them in the future.
