To kick off the start of a new year, Rockstar Games has been treating Red Dead Redemption 2 fans to some extra goodies in the game's online multiplayer - and this week is no exception.

Although Rockstar Games is focusing all its attention on the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, it has still spared a thought or two for Red Dead Redemption 2.

Check out the trailer for Red Dead Online below!

Well, more specifically, the game’s Red Dead Online addition.

Allowing players to head to the American Frontier as their very own gunslinger, Red Dead Online has bridged the gap between Rockstar releases and to say thank you, the studio has steadily been releasing some in-game goodies.

Kicking off on 7 January as a way to “Ring in the New Year with Red Dead Online”, players have been able to earn in-game currency, extra XP and various cosmetics by taking part in challenges.

“The frontier’s budding organised crime scene pays handsomely in Red Dead Online this month with Blood Money Opportunities awarding 3X RDO$, Gold, and XP. Plus, tackle Blood Money Contracts to earn 2X RDO$ and XP through February 3,” the official blog post reads.

As well as gold and XP, players have also been earning limited-time cosmetics and from 28 January to 3 February, they can earn the gray Macbay Jacket.

To earn this exclusive item, players must complete all Collector Daily Challenges two days in a row so you still have plenty of time if you haven’t started yet.

This will be the last cosmetic to earn for the New Year event but if you have completed any Blood Money Opportunity through to 3 February, you will also be rewarded with a pair of stylish blue Tied Pants.

Fashion is very important on the Frontier so you don’t want to miss out on these limited-time cosmetics if you wish to stand out among the rest.
