The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is one filled with secrets, Easter eggs and hidden areas that have been painstakingly created by the masters of open-world gaming.
The Rockstar game may be approaching its 7-year anniversary but dedicated fans are still stumbling across unique and exciting finds that many admit they have never seen before in their own playthroughs.
It is testament to the level of detail that Rockstar is capable of creating and, I don’t know about you, but it makes me even more excited to see what they have managed with Grand Theft Auto VI.
Back to Red Dead Redemption 2, however, as one fan has stumbled across an interesting find in Blackwater and took to r/RDR2 to share their findings.

“What is this?” They asked, alongside an image of some drawings found on a wall.
“I was in Blackwater trying to save a guy from getting robbed in an alley when I came across this piece of art. Does anyone know what it is?”
The art looks like some sort of code made using drawings and one that can easily be missed as it is found in such an obscure area.
Luckily, one fellow fan had the answer to the riddle and shared the meaning of this code in the comments.

They reveal that there are a handful of locations around Blackwater which can be considered ‘points of interest’. It is here that players will discover the mysterious writing.
“It's writing that, when decoded, spells out "Blessed are the peacemakers. Ayauhteotl,”” they shared.
"Blessed are the peacemakers..." is a refrain from the Bible, Matthew 5:9 ("Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Children of God"), but it also appears throughout RDR1 and 2.
The user, binocular_gems, goes on to explain that this phrase can be found everywhere from John’s gravestone, the name of a RDR2 mission and even in Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare in the form of ancient Aztec goddess, Ayauhteotle.

This is an important hidden mystery indeed and one that so many players have overlooked during their playthroughs.
Not only that but it goes to show just how much we may have missed during our time with Red Dead Redemption 2.
