If you want to claim some Red Dead Redemption 2 freebies today then you’re in the right place, my fellow wannabe cowboy or cowgirl.

For many, Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered to be one of the best games of all time, as reflected by its Metacritic score of 97. Set before the events of the 2010 game, RDR2 tells the story of Arthur Morgan, a leading member of the infamous Dutch van der Linde gang on the run from the law following an event dubbed the Blackwater Massacre.

However, once you’re done with the single-player campaign of Red Dead Redemption 2, you can continue your Wild West shenanigans by causing havoc (or teaming up) with other players across the world in multiplayer offering Red Dead Online.

While Rockstar Games does not support Red Dead Online with the same level of expansion-sized content as regularly seen in GTA Online, that’s not to say that the Western game isn't supported with new events because it most certainly is, and the latest event is live right now.

Just in time for Christmas, the ‘Call to Arms’ event will grant you loads of opportunities to earn bonus XP, currency, DLC and much more with various campaigns and in-game activities.

Have a blast this holiday season in Red Dead Online with the return of A Merry Call to Arms, awarding 2X RDO$, XP, and Gold.

One such campaign requires you to successfully hunt a legendary animal to acquire the red Furred Gloves. However, you’ve only got less than 24 hours to claim this free cosmetic DLC before the next event arrives offering a new reward as it'll expire on 9 December.

What’s more, by simply playing Red Dead Online between now and 6 January 2025, you’ll be gifted with a free accessory and three Prime Beef Joints (sadly, not in real life).

That is not all, because hunting a legendary animal at any point during the campaign will reward you with the white Shaffer Chaps, as well as the Winter Evans Repeater Variant just by logging in.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online are out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
