Red Dead Redemption 2 is without question one of the best games of all time which is why fans cannot get enough of Rockstar Games’ Wild West series.

Released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, then the following year on PC, Red Dead Redemption 2 was met with high critical acclaim garnering a well-earned score of 97 on Metacritic, earning the “Must-Play” accolade. So how does a game so critically acclaimed get even better, well, it seems that modder bolmin70 may have the answer.

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!

“Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive,” reads the synopsis of the game.

The modder in question, with the aid of the Red Dead Redemption community has created the ‘RDR2 Enhanced Edition’ and it’s available to download for free via Nexusmods. In a nutshell, this mod makes Red Dead Redemption 2 more difficult and by the sounds of things, it might interest fans of the survival genre.

This mod reduces the amount of ammo that protagonist Arthur Morgan can carry, food provides fewer stat boosts to make the need for sleeping and bathing to revitalise Arthur more important, and cigarettes have been nerfed by 50% with its Red Eye boost. New properties can also be purchased, watered-down tonics can be crafted and new difficulty settings have been added.

Unfortunately, this mod is only compatible with the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. As for the rest of us, we can play Red Dead Redemption 2 as intended on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it’s also backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
