We’re fast approaching spooky season and Rockstar Games is gearing up for Halloween-themed shenanigans in Red Dead Online with its latest free event.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One before arriving a year later on PC. That very same following year, its multiplayer offering, Red Dead Online was also released across all available platforms included for free with the base game.

The Red Dead Online Halloween event should provide a lot of fun rewards for fans at least momentarily, even for those furious about the lack of a Red Dead Redemption 2 update for the newly released PlayStation 5 Pro.

The latest Red Dead Online event is ‘Telegram Missions - Bodyguard for Hire’ and it will grant players bonus XP, in-game currency, DLC and more by completing objectives.

“Dark forces descend on the frontier, bringing a bounty of treats to Red Dead Online today that include new Bodyguard Telegram Missions, Moonshiners Bonuses, and more,” reads the description of the event.

Perhaps an objective that might be on the radar of Red Dead Redemption fans is the missions which require you to “escort a driver and client through hostile territory, guard a wealthy resident during a chaotic night out, and protect a novice hunter from poachers and wild animals to ensure their survival in the wilderness.”

Upon completion of the bodyguard missions, you will be rewarded with 2x RDO$, Gold and XP. What’s more by completing additional ‘Moonshiner Story Missions’, you will be gifted with a black Morales Vest, 30 Repeater Express Ammo and a Moonshine Mash Refill.

All objectives must be completed by 4 November 2024 and DLC rewards are expected to arrive in-game within 72 hours of completion.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online are out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
