If you enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Cyberpunk 2077, then you’ll likely enjoy a prominent 2024 release.

Well, I say prominent, but Star Wars Outlaws didn’t exactly land in the way Ubisoft hoped.

It reviewed favourably, albeit on the lower side, achieving a Metacritic score of 75.

It was perhaps a simple case of the game needing a tad more time in the oven, as devs have issued plenty of patches post-launch fixing players’ largest grievances - particularly regarding stealth segments.

It’s clearly worked wonders because fans are now declaring the game to be a “10/10”.

“Just finished Outlaws, up there with RDR2, Horizon Zero Dawn, TLOU for me. 10/10! Not even a SW fan,” wrote Reddit user zachnicodemous.

“I heard this was a good overall sci-fi game but also heard all the bad press it got at launch so waited until December 2024 to start it. Not a Star Wars fan really but man oh man did this game draw me in! Absolutely loved it! Up there with all my favorite games including Red Dead, The Last of Us, Cyberpunk, Fallout etc. I hope there is a sequel,” they continued.

You can take a look at Star Wars Outlaws in action below.

The user certainly wasn't alone in feeling this way.

“I started playing this three days ago and have already played for 24.5 hours lol. Expectations exceeded. It’s so good,” added SabotageMahal.

“Same, I got massive RDR2 vibes from this game. It's become one of my favorites as well,” remarked taavir40.

“It's 10 times better than RDR2, it's better graphics, immersion, physics and realism. Should have been GOTY,” commented ThaMasterG.

Damn. That’s incredibly high praise.

I have to say, I recently started the game myself and I too am loving it.

I intended to play immediately following launch, but Star Wars Outlaws landed in that post Gamescom period that’s always incredibly hectic.

Perhaps I did myself a favour though because my first experience of the game is with all of the post-launch amendments, and it’s really great.

While I’m not far enough in that I can decide whether it deserves a 10, I can say it’s a stellar title. It’s nice to see it catching a second wind.
