Pokémon Legends: Arceus is looking to be a runaway success for the series, with a painterly open world, interesting changes to combat, and renewed focus on what makes these games so magical. Yet, some fans are pointing out that it's got one serious gameplay issue that should be rectified with an update, or become a factor in the development of future Pokémon games to correct where Arceus missed the mark.

"Pokémon Legends: Arceus has taken the series to a new level," said James in his review, praising the art style, mesmeric soundtrack and the steps it has taken to reinvigorate a formula that has worked for the past 25 years. "Those hills are waiting for you to set foot upon them, to unearth the treasures they hold. Only this time, there are wild Pokémon roaming the plains, and that brings my excitement to fever pitch." He's not alone as Arceus is sitting at a very tidy 85 on Metacritic from a collection of over 40 critical reviews from across the world.

Take a tour of the ancient Hisui region in this trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus below!

The game released for the rest of the rabble rousers on Friday and screenshots, memes, artwork and videos of wild things happening in the new wild Hisui region are aplenty on social media. Clearly, a lot of players are having a Wailord of a time, however some have spotted that this game isn't going to click for everyone. "I was looking forward to playing it but seeing as its sleight heavy and I'm visually impaired feels like it wouldn't be the best game for someone like me," said Reddit user Apricot-Autumn in a post that has gained significant traction with the series' community.

Additions like text to speech, colourblindness options, sound to subtitles, one-handed control schemes, high contrast modes, as well as other games that have integrated accessibility settings with success, were discussed by fellow fans who want the game to be available to as many players as possible.

"I'm not disabled at all but this makes me really sad. Everyone should be able to experience such a huge thing like Pokémon," responded another player. Hopefully these comments and conversations are noticed and brought to the team working on support for Pokémon Legends: Arceus and future games.
