In a Sea of Stars

Sea of Stars is impressing plenty of PlayStation Plus subscribers with its 'cosy' vibes. One player has taken to Reddit to express their thoughts.

The PlayStation Plus subscriber created a thread asking members of the subreddit what else they should try as they're "really enjoying Sea Of Stars" because of its "warm comfy vibe, cool music, light crafting, pretty pixel art and turn-based combat." Replies flooded in quickly with some great gaming highlights.

The top reply was u/hopskipjumprun recommending The Messenger saying "[it's] made by the same studio. Similar vibes and very similarly chill music and nice aesthetics." A great plug for a brilliant platformer set in the same world as Sea of Stars.

"Sea of Stars is definitely Octopath Traveler 2 and Chained Echoes" says u/adomaniac91 who definitely nails the vibe check with two more RPGs that would be a great step further into the genre for the original poster as they'd mentioned "Don't think I've ever played a JRPG before."

I have to give a special shout out to u/Routine_Armadillo_46 who recommended one of my own top three JRPGs with "Final Fantasy 9 is one of my all time favourites." Having played some of Sea of Stars, I have to back this recommendation as they both walk a similar line graphically, but also in tone and world-building.

More Final Fantasy was recommended, along with Dragon Quest (my kingdom for a Dragon Quest VIII remake) from one user, while another threw it right back with a perfect suggestion of "Chrono Trigger" which has seen remastered release recently. A bit left-field, but still a great thought came from u/Bornstellar37 who gave a shout out to Yakuza: Like a Dragon which definitely hits the JRPG ask and offers plenty of drama, as well as funny moments.
