November is just around the corner, bringing us one step closer to the end of the horror show that has been 2020. Of course there's a little more to November 2020, as this is also the month that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S finally arrive in homes all around the world - but that doesn't mean that the PlayStation 4 is going anywhere, and Sony has the free games to prove it.

That's right kids, Sony is back with two more free PlayStation 4 games for all PlayStation subscribers. From Tuesday November 3rd until November 30th, PS4 owners with a subscription to the online service will be able to download two games: Middle Earth: Shadow Of War, and Hollow Knight.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it - that's a pretty bloody great month. Middle Earth: Shadow Of War is an excellent open-world action RPG based in The Lord Of The Rings universe with plenty of epic action and an incredible Nemesis system that really helps you learn to know and hate every single one of your foes. Hollow Knight, meanwhile, is a stunning metroidvania with punishing boss battles and a beautifully realised series of intricate caverns and passageways. it's one of the best games of the genre, and I implore you to play it.

But wait, there's more! Sony has also announced the very first PlayStation 5 free game for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Starting November 12th (or November 19th in the UK), PS5 owners with a subscription will be able to get Bugsnax entirely free. Well, in exchange for the PS Plus monthly fee, but you get what I mean.

"The very first PS5 game to join PlayStation Plus is Young Horses' ultra-charming, whimsical first-person adventure Bugsnax", Sony writes. "Play an investigative journalist who has set out to explore Snaktooth Island, home to legendary half-bug half-snack creatures, Bugsnax. Discover, hunt and capture all 100 critters while also tracking down and reuniting the island's inhabitants."

This news has made the PS5 launch feel a heck of a lot more real to me, and I'm pretty damn excited for November 19th. Don't forget that you have until next week to claim October's PS Plus freebies, which include Need For Speed: Payback and Vampyr.
