To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Fallout 4, Bethesda has released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition but it seems as though a select few gamers are less than happy with one major decision.

Launched on 10 November, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition allows fans of the original 2015 RPG to return to the Commonwealth in a “definitive experience”.

“Over the years, millions of vault dwellers have built settlements, battled Super Mutants, discovered hidden stories and forged their paths in the ruins of Boston,” the official Bethesda blog post reads.

“Now, the definitive Fallout 4 experience is available with the launch of the Anniversary Edition.”

The Anniversary Edition would see players able to enjoy the base game, alongside six official add-ons, and over 150 pieces of Creation Club content.

“Whether you’re revisiting old haunts or wandering the wasteland for the first time, you’ll discover a host of new quests, weapons and customization options that make every playthrough unique.”

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition launched on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 but missed out on one service that many users would have expected.

Xbox Game Pass.

Costing £52.99 on the Xbox Store, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition is slightly cheaper than the average AAA release but it is surprising to not see it join the Xbox Game Pass library. An omission that was noticed by user dansxxbang over on r/XboxGamePass.

Xbox users are not happy

“Fallout 4: Anniversary skipping Game Pass Ultimate,” they began.

“I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty salty to find out we don’t get this at least.

The fact that the price of Game Pass increased so much while we miss out on things like this immediately after is insulting.”

The price increase refers to Microsoft raising the prices of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription by a massive 50% earlier this year.

Increasing from £14.99 to £22.99 per month in the UK, it is a pretty substantial leap which makes it all the more frustrating that some of the most popular games are not being included.

“It doesn’t surprise me,” the top comment reads.

“The only “new” thing in the Anniversary Edition is the native inclusion of a bunch of Creation mods, which you can probably download anyway. Otherwise, it’s literally the GOTY edition.

Now, why THAT isn’t on GP, I don’t know.”

“Standard operating procedure for Xbox,” another user added.

So if you are interested in checking out the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, be prepared to pay full price for the experience.
