Huge news for lovers of four-year-old free-to-play RPGs and Xbox owners, as quite possibly the biggest F2P game of the last decade is finally available on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X.

HoYoverse’s anime gambling simulator Genshin Impact has, at long last, found its way onto Xbox consoles, as of last Wednesday.

The massive free-to-play gacha game has been available on mobile, PC and PlayStation since September 28 2020, which is probably why all of the Xbox owners over on the r/Genshin_Impact subreddit are currently losing their collective minds.

In a thread over on the subreddit from the official genshinimpact Reddit account, titled “Genshin Impact Now Available on Xbox”, fans of the game shared their experiences playing the title on the newly available systems.

As you might expect, most users are simply happy for the option to upgrade from whatever previously underpowered system they were previously using.

“Genuinely feels like a different game compared to my sh*tty laptop,” commented one Reddit user. “Colors feel more vibrant, inputs feel faster, even the music sounds better to me but maybe I’m just used to the lowest settings…”

Perhaps most surprising are the extremely positive responses from those using an Xbox Series S console to play the title.

“It appears that the Xbox Series S version runs at 1080p 60,” noted user MirroringGlass, “and that right there takes the crown for the lowest barrier of entry to play Genshin with a controller.”

“It looks better than I expected on Series S,” replied baltxweapon, “I believe it's 1440p upscaled to 4K and stable 60fps, also really fast loading times.”

Even better news for those of you looking to upgrade to a new system; it seems all of your progress in Genshin Impact will flawlessly carry over to Xbox systems, once you link your account to the device.
