Xbox free limited-edition hardware up for grabs for a limited time

Free is free but ... some of these colours are a bit much

Several unique, custom Xbox Series X consoles, controllers and other assorted goodies are going to be up for grabs soon– and you don’t have to spend a penny to be in with a chance to win them.

Thanks to a recent partnership between The Coca-Cola Company and Microsoft, a bunch of Fanta-inspired Xbox Series X consoles can be yours for the low, low price of free.

“As part of the partnership, Fanta designed six colourful, custom Xbox Series X consoles and wireless controllers, representing the most popular flavours in the brands portfolio like Orange, Lemon, Exotic, Fruit Twist, Grape and Lemon-Elderflower,” reads the press release on the Coca Cola site.

“Gamers can get their hands on the exclusive hardware by scanning a QR code on the side of any Fanta pack and heading to the Coke App for a chance to win.”

And oh boy, do these things look loud. I mean, free is free but… sheesh, I don’t know if I’d want that puke-green-coloured monstrosity in my living room. Would end up looking like an Andy Warhol painting.

Avowed launches on Xbox and PC on 18 February.

However, even if you don’t fancy getting your hands on some free hardware, there’s something else fun that’s up for grabs too, as Xbox owners will also “have the chance to win one of thousands of one-month trial codes of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (for new members only).”

Ok well, the “new members only” bit sort of sucks but at least you could always just make a new account I guess.

The campaign is set to launch in Q1 of this year, which is a fancy way of saying that it’s dropping soon, across Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Norway.

Curious to hear which one of these sickly looking colours is everyone’s favourite. Personally I like the pee-coloured yellow one the most, but to each their own.
