Next week is already shaping up to be another exciting time for Xbox users as its ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo event is set to kick off.

Demos give players the chance to try-before-they-buy by giving access to small portions of the game ahead of their full releases.

There may be nothing more frustrating than just getting into a game and being met with a “thank you for playing” screen but hey, this is the perfect way for developers to gain feedback on their upcoming titles and for players to add to their ever-growing wishlists.

Well, that will most certainly happen during next week’s ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo event which is set to begin on 9 September and will end on 30 September.

According to Xbox, over 40 demos will be available throughout this period and this includes both upcoming releases and also base games with brand-new content.

“These game demos differ from the usual ones in our Demo channel, as they’re shared before the games are finished and may not reflect the final product,” the Xbox press statement reads.

“Think of them more like ‘showfloor demos’, giving you early access and a chance to provide feedback. Expect these games to develop and improve before release.”

At the time of writing, Xbox has already started to add some demos to the Xbox Store. These include: Awaken, Astral Blade, Detective Dotson, Echo Weaver, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, A Pizza Delivery, Shroom Siege, and Yooka-Replaylee.

With over 40 being added over the next few weeks, there are still a few that have already been announced by Xbox including Mina the Hollower and The Jackbox Party Pack 11 so make sure to keep an eye out for those too.

It is clear that Xbox has something for everything when it comes to the demos on offer. For example, Echo Weaver offers a “time loop metroidBRAINia” experience whilst A Pizza Delivery may sound like your standard job sim title but is actually a narrative exploration game with a focus on connections.

These demos will only be available during the event and so if you wish to try out a title you have been eyeing up for a while, don’t miss out on this opportunity.

So if you want to help out the developers and check out some incredible games ahead of their full launch, make sure you head to the ID@Xbox Indie Selects Demo event which kicks off tomorrow.
