Over the weekend, one brand-new atmospheric puzzle adventure has taken the world by storm and luckily, it is completely free to grab courtesy of Xbox.

If you have been living under a rock, then you will have missed the launch of Keeper, a puzzle game unlike any other as it combines head-scratching conundrums and breathtaking environments as you journey across realms beyond understanding.

Developed by Double Fine Productions, Keeper was released just last week and already finds itself sitting at a respectable 7.4 user score on Metacritic and a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam so it seems as though this is another game not to miss out on this year.

“Keeper is a story told without words, in which a long-forgotten lighthouse is awakened and embarks upon an unexpected journey into realms beyond understanding,” the official Xbox synopsis reads.

Despite Keeper’s raving reviews, many users have used this as an opportunity to slate Xbox’s marketing as it is safe to say that this brand-new release did not have any.

“Thank you Xbox marketing as always. Didn’t even know it was out,” user wicktus said over on r/gaming.

“I never heard of this game till right now,” another user agreed.

Regardless of Xbox’s lack of marketing, it seems as though Microsoft is making it up to users by offering Keeper to download and keep for free courtesy of Xbox Game Pass.

Available on Xbox Series X/S, Cloud, and PC, Keeper is available for free for Ultimate Game Pass members now so do not miss out on this epic puzzle adventure.

In a “story told without words”, Keeper will see you embark on an unexpected journey in this heartening tale of companionship across an odyssey of mystifying metamorphosis.

From the creators of Stacking, Headlander, RAD, and Psychonauts, Double Fine’s latest title is a surreal third-person adventure set on an island in a long-lost sea.

A lone and forgotten lighthouse stands against the horizon, but at your arrival, it awakens.

“Taken with a mysterious sense of purpose and joined by a spirited seabird, it embarks upon a heartening tale of unlikely companionship, an odyssey of mystifying metamorphosis, and an unexpected journey towards the centre of the island, into realms beyond understanding.”

If you want to try out this puzzle adventure for yourself and you just so happen to be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate user, Keeper is free to download right now and there is no doubt that this hit indie title could be nominated for some big awards come December.
