Xbox 40+ Free Downloads Announced In Limited-Time Event

Gain access to a bunch of free games

Demos give players the chance to try-before-they-buy and although there is nothing more frustrating than just getting into a game before being hit with a ‘thank you for playing’, it is still a perfect opportunity for developers to gauge interest before full launch.

Well, Xbox is most certainly doing that by hosting its Demo Fest next week which will see players gain access to over 40 demos to try out.

In collaboration with the ID@Xbox program, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players will be able to access all of the demos via the Xbox Store from 9 September to 30 September.

"Exciting news – Indie Selects is bringing you a monster new Demo Fest next week,” the official statement from Xbox reads.

“From September 9-30, players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One can dive into more than 40 demos, including upcoming titles and games with new content.

Whether you’re eager to try something new or get a sneak peek at games coming in future, this demo event is one you won’t want to miss!"

As of right now, Xbox is keeping the full demo list under wraps but we do know of four titles which will be playable during this period: Echo Weaver, Mina the Hollower, The Jackbox Party Pack 11 and Yooka-Replayee.

This is already an epic selection of games as we have “ a time loop metroidBRAINia”, 2D platformer, party game pack, and remake of a 3D indie platformer.

With time as your only resource and secrets as your only upgrade, Echo Weaver truly sounds intriguing as you take on the role of the last of the Weavers in a society trapped in a glitching time loop.

In Mina the Hollower, you will take control of Mina, a renowned Hollower who must whip foes, burrow through the ground, and explore a pixel-perfect land in an attempt to rescue a cursed island.

The Jackbox Party Pack 11 is perfect for those who have friends so count me out.

I’m kidding. This brand-new pack will add a further five new games to the iconic co-op title and so this will be the perfect title to whip out during game night.

Last but by no means least is Yooka-Replayee, a “definitive remake” of 2017’s Yooka-Laylee.

In this collection of 3D platformer games, players will get to enjoy the spiritual successor of the legendary Banjo-Kazooie series.

All of these games and lots more will be available for free as of next week for Xbox users, so don’t miss out.
