Xbox Game Pass subscribers are getting an exclusive, remastered Warhammer game added to their libraries, sooner than you’d think too.

Warhammer: Skulls 2025 kicked off today, with several exciting announcements for new and existing Warhammer games. As part of the festivities it was announced Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is returning with a remaster, and I couldn’t be more excited.

The remastered version of the game brings a higher resolution and framerate to the game, as well as modernised controls that look like they’ll be similar to Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2.

As someone who played this game as part of their first glimpse into the 40k universe on the PlayStation 3, I’m very excited to see it return for a modern audience.

Interestingly though PlayStation users won’t be able to play it, as the game is exclusive to Xbox and PC.

What’s more, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will see the game added to their libraries when it launches on 10 June 2025.

All of the DLC released for the game will be included, most of it relevant to the game’s multiplayer which pales in comparison to its sequel in my opinion.

Nevertheless it’s exciting to see it return, as the only way you could play it before this remaster was either on original hardware like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, or on Steam via the re-released version.

I was always curious why it was never made a backwards compatible game for Xbox consoles but perhaps this is why.

Either way I’m happy to see Captain Titus’ story being completely playable now on modern platforms, and with Space Marine 3 already confirmed it’s shaping up to be an incredible trilogy.

Be sure to check out Warhammer 40k: Space Marine- Master Crafted Edition on 10 June, it’s worth it.
