If you want to play six free games today on Xbox without having to subscribe to Game Pass, then you’re in the right place.

Don’t get me wrong, Xbox Game Pass offers great value for money, especially with recent inclusions such as DOOM: The Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Blue Prince, but it’s always a nice bonus when we can play free demos for promising upcoming games.

Check out the Blades of Fire trailer below!

Below, you’ll find six free brand brand-new, playable Xbox demos that you can download right now.

  • Blades of Fire: “You are Aran de Lira, firstborn of the King’s Ward. The newly crowned Queen Nerea has cast a spell that turns steel into stone. Only her army of abominations wield the divine metal against which other blades shatter.”
  • ANNIE - Last Hope "is an HD voxel top-down shooting game set in the 1990s. After a sudden invasion of unknown creatures, Annie is separated from her fiancé and embarks on a perilous journey to find him. However, what seems like a simple search soon unravels into a web of conspiracies, revealing the dark secrets hidden beneath the end of the world”.
  • Captain Blood "is a pirate-themed action game set on the Spanish Main in the 17th century, where you step into the boots of a fearsome pirate on a quest for gold and glory. Expect wild adventures with cannon firing, pistol shooting, swashbuckling sword fights, and plenty of pirate shenanigans”.
  • Cattle Country “straddles the saddle of cosy wholesome gaming and action-adventure. Serving up hours of the slice-of-life you’d expect on the frontier – including mining, fishing, crafting, and farming – along with deep-rooted Wild West Quests delivering stories of romance, cattle drives, bandits, and robberies.”
  • Quriocity: “Humanity has developed faster-than-light travel technology and is now ready to create a multi-planet civilisation. You are the leader of the Quriocity 1 mission, which is directed to an alien planet very similar to Earth to create the very first alien colony.”
  • Soulstone Survivors “is a fast-paced action roguelite that thrusts you into epic battles against relentless hordes and colossal bosses. Harness the power of the Void to craft unique builds, unlock powerful weapons, and push your characters to new heights—all in pursuit of godlike abilities”.

Which will you pick up first?
