January is already falling away into the void that is time past, and we trudge ever onwards into the unknown, but at least we can do it with some free Xbox games, eh?

Of course, a new month means a new selection of games arriving on Xbox Game Pass, the handy subscription model that allows you to play a host of games.

I hope you like base-building, because Lightyear Frontier has a lot of it

You can download and play any of these games across Xbox and PC.

First up is the original Diablo, which comes to PC via Game Pass Ultimate.

As one of the cornerstones of the ARPG genre, Diablo has a long history, and now you can see where it all began.

For combat sports fans, you can play UFC 5 from EA Sports, which features all the fighters you know and love from the world of broken noses and torn muscles.

There’s a cosy experience waiting for you in My Time at Sandrock, which will have you farming, crafting, and chatting to nosey neighbours.

It’s a bit like life, if it wasn’t an endless hellscape and housing was affordable.

Rolling Hills sees you play as a cutesy robot who delivers sushi in a busy restaurant setting, this is a charming little simulator full of whimsy.

For more crafting and base-building, you can check out Lightyear Frontier, which I reviewed when it first released.

It was a bit ‘bare bones’ back then, but after numerous updates, there’s plenty to get on with and a gorgeous world in which to do it.

Lastly, Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders which, until right this second, I didn’t even know existed.

Apparently there’s more base-building in this, so those who love crafting homes from scratch are as happy as a pig in… a muddy puddle.

That’s your lot, I don’t have anything more, be off with you.
