It’s finally arrived. This year’s edition of Gamescom will finally get underway tonight when Geoff Keighley takes to the stage for Opening Night Live.
After ONL, Gamescom will well and truly kick off, running from 23 to 27 August. It’ll give fans the opportunity to go hands-on with some of the year’s biggest upcoming releases - many of which we’ll get a juicy preview of at ONL. Last week, Keighley teased that ONL would focus predominantly on pre-announced games, so don’t expect too many ‘world premiere’ announcements. That being said, Keighley didn’t say the show was totally absent of surprises, so we’ll cross our fingers. We do know for certain that we’ll get new looks at Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Black Myth Wukong, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Crimson Desert, Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and more. If you tune in to watch the show on Twitch, you can actually nab a very nice Marvel freebie.

Are you a fan of Marvel Snap? You should be, because it’s an excellent game. Well, it’s been confirmed that a free Spider-Man variant is up for grabs during ONL. That’s news we love to hear seeing as variants can be pretty pricey. It’s the Spider-Man Max Grecke variant that’s up for grabs. It’s a Twitch drop, so you’ll unsurprisingly need a Twitch account. Once you’ve set up or signed into your Twitch account, you’ll need to link it to your Marvel Snap account.
Once you’ve done this, all you need to do is tune into the show and watch for at least 30 minutes. You’ll then unlock the Spider-Man Max Grecke card, a Spider-Man Max Grecke avatar, and 65 Spider-Man boosters to level up. As a reminder, ONL airs tonight, 22 August, at 7pm BST, 8pm CET, and 11am PT.
