We can’t believe we’re saying this considering how excited we are to play as Ciri, but The Witcher 4 can afford to take its time.

Our sights are set on another adventure, one that stars our beloved Geralt.

As much as we realise it’s Ciri’s time to take charge in The Witcher 4 – as has been teased for years – we just aren’t ready to bid farewell to the White Wolf.

Fortunately, we don’t have to.

How stunning does The Witcher 4 look?

Later this year, a new Geralt adventure will be in the palm of our hands, delighting and wowing us with more fantastical tales.

Before you get your hopes up that CD Projekt Red has somehow been concealing another new game all this time, we need to be clear about this new story: it’s a comic series.

We know some of you will immediately switch off having learnt this, but we implore you to stay because the artwork alone looks breathtaking.

As shared on Bluesky by Dark Horse Comics, this new series will kick off with The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly.

Issue one will become available from 23 April.

Here’s a little taster of what you can expect in this new story, written by Simon Spurrier and illustrated by Stephen Green.

ICYMI: A new Witcher series is on the way! THE WITCHER: THE BEAR AND THE BUTTERFLY is set to release in April. Details: bit.ly/3DDGpSA By @sispurrier.bsky.social, and team featuring variant covers from Mattia De Lulis, Aaron Campbell and Tim Von Rueden

“Geralt travels to a remote town where a vampire is rumoured to be killing the townspeople. The bounty has amassed all manner of monster hunters – and among them is another witcher, from the school of the Bear, a fierce competitor for the reward.”

Despite being such a recent announcement, fans are already in awe of how stunning the issue looks.

“I really like the lighting in The Bear and Butterfly cover. Excellent work,” commented Vera Gordon.

As titillating as the true scale of The Witcher 4’s world is, we’re happy to wait for it now that we have another Geralt saga to immerse ourselves in.

The White Wolf returns on 23 April. Note it down.
