Steam users can grab a random free game right now, but you have to be quick

Steam users can grab a random free game right now, but you have to be quick

There's a giveaway to join

Everyone loves a giveaway. It’s a simple fact. Even better if it’s a giveaway that requires minimal effort but has the potential of rewarding you with another game for your backlog.

If you want the chance to win one of 13 games, then you need to get yourself over to Twitter and join in on this great opportunity.

If you've got a new Steam Deck there are plenty of great games to play.

The account, Free Steam Games, is giving away several titles out of which you could win one random code. All you have to do is a little bit of following and retweeting to be in with a chance. Listed in the tweet are Assetto Corsa, Civilization VI, Dead Age 2, Mortal Kombat, Turbo Golf Racing, 7 Days to Die, and seven more. All are cracking games and worthy of your time, more so if you manage to snag one for free. But be quick as the giveaway ends 23 December.

Some of the games being given away are absolute classics; Civilization VI is a hugely successful strategy game that really pulls players in, with them often losing hundreds of hours; Assetto Corsa is a wildly popular racing game known for its beauty; and Mortal Kombat is a leader in the pack of fighting games.

You will need a Steam account to redeem a game if you win as the name of the account suggests. It’s super simple to set up an account if you don’t already have one, but if you’re playing PC games, it’s likely you’re ready to go.

If you’re unlucky and don’t manage to snag one of the games on offer, you will have an opportunity to pick up a bargain as the Winter Steam sale starts today at 6pm GMT and will feature a whole host of brilliant discounted titles. Between the giveaway and the sale, you’ll have plenty of entertainment this Christmas.
