A new P.T.-style horror game has just hit Steam, and you can now grab a free download for it.

Back in 2014, we were all exposed to this lovely little nightmare called P.T..

Developed by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, the game was a playable teaser for Konami's then in-development Silent Hills.

Following Silent Hills' cancellation, P.T. became a relic of 2010s-era horror lost media. But it did go on to influence a countless number of P.T.-style games from indie creators.

BrokenLore: Don't Watch, is a new horror game hitting Steam from Serafini Productions that seemingly takes notes from the cancelled Silent Hills teaser.

There's a playable demo you can now download from the Steam store page, offering a taste of the experience to come.

"Shinji is a young hikikomori, trapped inside his small Tokyo apartment," the official description on Steam reads.

"With unpaid rent, mounting bills, and a family that doesn’t understand him, he feels isolated from the world—and from himself."

"You’ll explore Shinji’s mind as it unravels, but be cautious. Hyakume, a malevolent entity with a hundred eyes, is watching, waiting for the right moment to strike."

To be honest, even judging by the screenshots and videos on the store page, I'm already getting a little spooked.

Given the game's focus on psychological horror, I expect there'll be lots of unsettling imagery to scare the player.

It doesn't look like the game is very long either, and should only take a couple of hours at most to finish. This can be a good thing, as great horror games should always end before the scares wear off.

Don't Watch is the second entry in the BrokenLore series. The first game, Low, came out in February. Serafini also has two more entries planned for later in the year, Unfollow and Follow, alongside a few other games.

Altogether, it's apparent the studio is efficient at working quickly on these games, considering it's able to release four of them in one year. Given the short completion times, we can imagine they make for a decent horror games marathon.

BrokenLore: Don't Watch is available to download as a free demo, and the full game will be released on 25th April, 2025.
