Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden might have passed you by when it launched in February, just a few months ago. That's a damn shame, because it's actually incredible.
"Hunt ghosts as two memorable characters in a story-driven Action-RPG where your decisions carry dramatic consequences," teases the game's synopsis. "Torn between honoring your oath to the living and saving your departed partner, how far will you go for love?"
Just a few days ago our very own Kate Harrold waxed lyrical about the fact New Eden is one of the year's best RPGs, and now you can try it for yourself free of charge. In an age where video games are getting more and more expensive, who can argue with a free sample? Not us.
A demo for the game can currently be found over on Steam, which should hopefully be enough to convince you to take a proper look at a release that definitely didn't get the attention it deserved at the time.
New Eden currently has a respectable 78% on Metacritic, and a user score of 7.8, which is a rare show of unity between critics and gamers.
Over on Steam the game has a 9/10 rating consisting of Very Positive reviews, so you're definitely missing out on a hidden gem.
