Steam gamers warned they've under 24 hours to grab multiple free downloads

Hurry it up

Steam gamers everywhere be advised you currently have mere hours left to grab a bunch of exclusive free downloads before they're gone forever.

If you're the sort that regularly checks in on Steam then you'll probably already know it's a great place to pick up free treats.

There are usually plenty of demos, rewards, and other freebies just waiting to be nabbed - and this last week has been no different.

Steam is currently holding a special Rhythm Fest promotion, with discounts on all sorts of games based around rhythm and music, unsurprisingly. There are also a ton of demos and three exclusive animated avatars which, I have to admit, look especially cool.

If this promotion has passed you by, worry not: you still have some time left to claim a few demos and/or the animated avatars. Not a lot of time, mind you.

Steam's Rhythm Fest officially ends at 6pm on 26 August here in the UK which, at the time of writing, is about four hours away. Basically, hurry up!

If free avatars aren't really up your street, there are also a handful of new games available to download and keep for free. Nothing massive, but worth a look if you're into that sort of thing.

The new games added as of this weekend that you download and play for free with zero subscription include the following:

  • Squared Adventure - A lovely looking 2D platformer with really well-made pixel graphics. Definitely recommend checking this one out if you get time.
  • Emerald Dreams: Sanity - Platformer Quest - A 2D RPG with a very silly name.
  • Rune Seeker - An early access strategy based roguelike that looks like it could be pretty fun if you're a fan of the genre.
  • Capital - Very much like someone ordered GTA VI off Wish.
