Planning for the weekend

The week is quickly passing by and that means one thing, it is time to decide which game we want to get stuck into over the weekend.

Well, luckily for PC users, Steam regularly releases free games to try out over on its Storefront.

Giving users the chance to try-before-they-buy, Steam demos is a way to dive into an exciting new release, get hyped for its launch and even find a new favourite.

So without further ado, let us take a look at ten of Steam’s newest free downloads.

My Favorite Coworker - fans of Tamagotchi will love this reimagined version of it. In this retro-style game, players will have access to a virtual pet on their screen at all times and it is up to them to care for their new baby.

Die For The Lich - a roguelike deckbuilder with turn-based combat. Enter a world of darkness with a Lich as its ruler as you fight your way to his throne.

Abyssal Drift - a retro puzzle game where you will explore multiple mazes as a jellyfish. “Find the key, unlock the door, and dive even deeper”.

SOR.OP: Dark Shades - a realistic first-person shooter with over 40 maps to fight across. Choose between seven modes and use tactics, skills and teamwork to achieve victory.

Strange Dreams - a life sim with a twist. You find yourself stuck in a dream where everything is both reasonable and unreasonable. You can only explore but do you really want to go back?

Service with a Shotgun - visual storytelling meets chaotic wave game shooting as you find yourself as the last soul managing a roadside shop in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

Rebellion Stryker - a retro beat-’em-up where you will run and gun and slide and slash with up to six friends. Challenge levels and bosses in a game inspired by the arcade classics.

Colossal Citadels - a fantasy strategy game with turn-based mechanics. Expand and operate a network of towns as you grow your heroes and excel in auto-battle combat.

Work in Progress - an action shooter which takes place on your first day in a brand-new office. With half of the staff already burnt-out, it will be up to you to grab your gun, accept a contract and go fire some people. Literally.

The Silent Jungle - a classic survival horror game set in the deep jungles of Vietnam. A lone American soldier must survive against various traps and enemies and even haunting illusions if they wish to escape and find their way home.

All of these titles and hundreds more are available to download for free on Steam right now.
