The next Red Dead Redemption protagonist has been staring us in the face this whole time, we’ve just been too ignorant to notice.

Perhaps it’s foolish to be thinking about Red Dead Redemption 3 when Rockstar Games has yet to deliver a second GTA VI trailer.

But here we are; gamers love to torture themselves.

Attention has, once again, turned to the topic of who the next lead will be in the wild west hit.

As far as one fan is concerned, they’ve already found the perfect character.

You can always be an outlaw with your friends in Red Dead Online

Despite deleting their Reddit account, the OP’s suggestion of Landon Ricketts as the RDR3 protagonist still remains.

Quite a few fans are taken with this idea now that it’s been put forward.

User TheNullOfTheVoid said, “I’m replaying through RDR1, got to Landon Ricketts again and I can’t help but to think, I would love to play as him in a potential RDR3.”

This same fan also came up with the perfect title for the third game, “I was thinking Red Dead Retribution would be a great name as well! I love your idea, and I’d love to have that game.”

Even individuals who aren’t a 100 percent convinced still believe that Landon is the better choice when compared with other possibilities.

“I do think it would be better than making Jack Marston the protagonist,” commented Valdish.

“Honestly, I love the idea. There’s so much we don’t know how about his story,” argued another player.

Only time will tell if Rockstar feels the same way about Landon; we can but hope it does.

In the meantime, while we mull over what might come to pass, Red Dead Redemption: A Call to Arms is waiting to be played.

You don’t have to just sit and wait for the next game – you can also be an outlaw while you wait. Just in-game, of course.
